Our History
This charming and picturesque public house is set in the heart of the Kentish countryside in an area of fruit farms with views of apple orchards and typical Kent oast houses.
3 miles from Canterbury
Despite being only 3 miles from the centre of the historic City of Canterbury, the lovely rural setting and the carefully tended gardens make it a perfect venue for lunch or dinner with the family, an informal business meeting, a quiet drink or just as a stopping off point on the famous North Downs Way.
The building was formerly four farm cottages, auctioned on the 23rd of March 1898, and was later turned into a small village pub.
40 seater restaurant
In 1984 a large 40 seater restaurant was added, with views overlooking the orchards and one acre garden.
Now, The Chapter Arms, a family run business, is recognised for its excellent food and warm, friendly atmosphere. Offering a varied menu with dishes made from freshly prepared local produce.
